Our first vintage and pompously named in honor of a famous producer of Chateauneuf du Pape, this 95% Syrah/5% Grenache blend has demonstrated remarkable evolution since bottling. Layers of Syrah fruit are complemented by an expansive nose of dark berry fruit, smoke, licorice and earth. There are sufficient tannins to ensure that this wine will continue to develop for years to come. Availability is limited and dwindling. This is a great wine punching well above its weight. Buy some before I pull it from inventory for myself.
Recent tastings – 6/12/2015- Without decanting. Medium purple, expansive nose of berries, earth, licorice, tarry scents and spice with a hefty feel on the palate and long sweet finish. Really delicious, really impressive..world-class character, IMHO.
