Description

The 2018 Windsor Oaks Syrah with its classic bouquet of dark berry fruits and floral overtones formed the backbone (95%) of the 2018 #2Red. Durif(2%) added tannin and additional dark fruit qualities while Mourvedre(1%), Grenache(1%) and Viognier(1%) providing additional complexity and aromatics.  As with the previous award-winning vintages, this wine is enjoyable now but should really start to show well in 5 years and then develop for an additional 10-20 years with proper storage.  Enjoy it with grilled red and game meats and select cheeses (especially goat cheese, blue cheese, smoked gouda and gruyere).
