After a year in oak, the 2010 Grist Vineyards Zinfandel demonstrated the effusive bouquet that make this varietal so distinctive. In the blending session, small amounts of Durif (3%), Grenache (1.5%) and Viognier (0.5%) were added, providing additional complexity and tannins for enhanced aging. As with the previous award-winning vintages, the 2010 Zinpiphany\u00ae has layers of briary fruit, a nose of crushed raspberries and cinnamon and possesses tremendous appeal. Excellent now, it should develop for several years, complimenting Italian red sauces, pizza, grilled meats and the sophisticated empty glass.
